Media and borders: first discussions on mapping these studies in Brazil

Resumo: This article presents the first reflections on the project Media and borders: cartography of these studies in Brazil that is aimed at mapping the research conducted in the country about media and national borders. The proposal is grounded in the increase of interest in the subject within scientific production. Brazilian researchers performed analyses on socio-cultural practices of border and its impact on media products published and put into circulation by local media vehicles, headquartered in these spaces. The collection period of the material is between the years 2000 and 2015 and has as focus, theses and dissertations, defended in postgraduate programs related to Communication Sciences. We consolidate this work, methodologically, in bibliographical research, First results were obtained with the survey of academic data, with a brief discussion of the proposal to draw up a map centered on media studies and borders.

A proposta está calcada no avanço do interesse pelo tema e a produção científica resultante das análises realizadas por pesquisadores brasileiros sobre as práticas socioculturais dos fronteiriços e seus reflexos nos produtos midiáticos elaborados e colocados em circulação por veículos de comunicação local, sediados nesses espaços. O período de coleta do material está compreendido entre os anos de 2000 e 2015 e tem como foco teses e dissertações, defendidas em programas de pós-graduação ligados às Ciências da Comunicação.
