Resumo: This study aims to analyze the representation of american black women in comic books by an approach that rescues the historical and sociocultural context of production and diffusion of these narratives. The mutant Storm, from X-Men, is the object of study, whose trajectory allows to trace some parallels that support and question the social role naturalized to these women. The results suggest that analyzing the cultural goods directed to the entertainment is possible to make some considerations about the relationship between gender and ethnicity in contemporary Western society.

Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul2016-04-29info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/intexto/article/view/5493410.19132/1807-8583201635.97-118Intexto; n. 35, jan./abr. 2016; 97-118Intexto; n. 35, jan./abr. 2016; 97-118Intexto; n. 35, jan./abr. 2016; 97-118Intexto; n. 35, jan./abr. 2016; 97-118Intexto; n. 35, jan./abr. 2016; 97-1181807-8583reponame:Intexto (Porto Alegre)instname:Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)instacron:UFRGSporhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/intexto/article/view/54934/37086Copyright (c) 2016 Lucas do Carmo Dalbeto, Ana Paula Oliveirahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDalbeto, Lucas do CarmoOliveira, Ana Paula2023-11-24T14:32:52Zoai:seer.ufrgs.br:article/54934Revistahttp://seer.ufrgs.br/intextoONGhttp://seer.ufrgs.br/intexto/oai||intexto@ufrgs.br1807-85831807-8583opendoar:2023-11-24T14:32:52Intexto (Porto Alegre) - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)false
