Androcentrism and racism in science: analysis of teaching staff at federal universities in Brazil by sex and color/race

Resumo: It is a contribution to the study of science, gender, race, and intersectionality. Based on a theoretical framework related to feminist criticism of science and black feminism, the study aims to outline the profile of the teaching staff at federal universities in Brazil in terms of color/race and gender. This allows dimensioning the participation of black women in academic-scientific activities. For this, data from the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira for the years 2019 and 2021 are used. It is concluded that black women, as well as yellow and Indigenous (these are even more marginalized) are a minority in teaching at federal public universities. The data reinforces some conclusions from other studies on science and gender that claim that Brazilian science remains male and white.

Isso permite dimensionar a participação de mulheres pretas nas atividades acadêmico-científico. Para isso, trabalha-se os dados do Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira dos anos 2019 e 2021. Conclui-se que as mulheres pretas, assim como as amarelas e indígenas (essas mais à margem) são minoria na docência em universidades públicas federais.
