Resumo: This paper identifies, initially, conceptual parameters of information in the Information Science area and how production of information is processed in the CommunicationJournalism area, searching possible similarities and differences, as it is elaborated to do so, a theoretical group of thoughts. It also establishes a genuine dialogue between these areas promoting the elaboration of competent knowledge for wide intervention in all sectors of contemporary society. The core of the discussion is how to work with information as significant structures, as knowledge producer for the society. The production, organization and information stock control, to be used immediately or in the future, are indispensable for the effective transfer of information. We understand that information should be interpreted considering the problems of the actual time, without, of course, ignoring the historical root and the characteristic that makes it original by nature: to be producer of knowledge and intellectual content. It is also true that information is the content of a message and communication is the way this message is transmitted.

Establece un dialogo genuino entre las áreas promoviendo la elaboración de conocimiento competente para la intervención amplia en todos los sectores de la sociedad contemporánea. Lo que se discute es como trabajar con la información como estructuras significantes, como productora de conocimientos para la sociedad. La producción, la organización, para uso inmediato o futuro, son imprescindibles para que se haga efectiva la transferencia de información. Se entiende que la información deba ser interpretada llevándose en consideración los problemas actuales de cada época, sin perder de vista, claro, su raíz histórica y la propiedad que la hace original por naturaleza: generadora de conocimiento y riqueza intelectual. Se puede decir que la información es el contenido de un mensaje y la comunicación es el medio por el cual ese mensaje es divulgado.Identifica, inicialmente, os parâmetros conceituais da informação na área da Ciência da Informação (C.I.) e como se processa a produção da informação na área da Comunicação - Jornalismo, buscando possíveis semelhanças e diferenças, elaborando, para tal fim, um conjunto teórico de reflexões. Estabelece um genuíno diálogo entre as áreas promovendo a elaboração de conhecimento competente para a intervenção ampla em todos os setores da sociedade contemporânea. O que se discute é como trabalhar com a informação enquanto estruturas significantes, como produtora de conhecimento para a sociedade. A produção, a organização e controle dos estoques de informação, para uso imediato ou futuro, são imprescindíveis para que se efetive a transferência da informação. Compreende-se que a informação deva ser interpretada levando-se em consideração os problemas decorrentes de cada época, sem, é claro, perder de vista sua raiz histórica e a propriedade que a lhe faz original por natureza: geradora de conhecimento e riqueza intelectual.
