This article aims to prospect an overview of the use of educational tools that use Artificial Intelligence, specifically Chat GPT (Chat Generative Pre-trained), by teachers in the public education network. Furthermore, we also seek to identify the perception that these teachers have in relation to technological and educational innovations. The research has a qualitative and quantitative approach and was developed in collaboration with professor-researchers from different areas and regions of Brazil, using an online questionnaire as a data collection instrument. The results, related to the use of tools that use AI for educational purposes, point to a certain resistance on the part of the participants. Regarding perception, we found a relative lack of confidence in the ability to distinguish between AI-generated content and human content, suggesting the need for greater awareness and training for educators.
