In the domain of Rock: : from anthology to ontology of a musical genre

Resumo: This article examines the Rock's domain from its historical, social, political, and market specificities. It seeks to understand, through its discursive community, its conceptual and terminological aspects in the light of the Knowledge Organization. The lack of coherence in the criteria for creating and using the terms that compose its terminology was problematized. It proposes to promote, through principles, methods, and instruments originating from the field of Knowledge Organization studies, an original treatment of the knowledge of the mentioned domain. It was an applied research that sought to promote the modeling and formalization of Rock, as a field of knowledge, through a domain ontology. For the collection, registration, and safeguarding of the terms, an electronic form was created. As criteria for preparing the data collection form, the origin, definition, related terms, and the source from which they were extracted were considered. The following tools were used to systematize the data: CmapTools, for the systematization of concepts through logical-semantic relations, and Protégé: an ontology editor used in the implementation of the generated conceptual system. The range of contributions arising from the principles of literary warranty and cultural warranty in the representation of knowledge in this domain was observed. The high degree of semantic expressiveness provided by ontology was also found to be a relevant factor in the ability to overcome conceptual and terminological dilemmas in the field. As a final product, a prototype was obtained, a knowledge base about Rock with potential for applicability in broader contexts of recovery of specialized information in this musical genre in digital contexts.

Busca comprender, a través de su comunidad discursiva, sus aspectos conceptuales y terminológicos a la luz de la Organización del Conocimiento. Se problematiza la falta de coherencia en los criterios de creación y uso de los términos que componen su terminología. Propone promover, a través de principios, métodos e instrumentos provenientes del campo de los estudios de Organización del Conocimiento, un tratamiento original de los saberes de dicho dominio. Fue una investigación aplicada que buscó promover la modelización y formalización del Rock, como campo de conocimiento, a través de una ontología de dominio. Para la recolección, registro y resguardo de los términos se creó un formulario electrónico. Se consideraron los criterios para la elaboración del formulario de recolección de datos, el origen, la definición, los términos relacionados y la fuente de donde fueron extraídos. Para la sistematización de los datos se utilizaron las siguientes herramientas: CmapTools, para la sistematización de conceptos a través de relaciones lógico-semánticas, y Protégé: editor de ontologías utilizado en la implementación del sistema conceptual generado. Se observó la gama de aportes provenientes de los principios de garantía literaria y garantía cultural en la representación del saber en este dominio. El alto grado de expresividad semántica que proporciona la ontología también resultó ser un factor relevante en la capacidad de superar dilemas conceptuales y terminológicos en el campo. Como producto final se obtuvo un prototipo, una base de conocimientos sobre Rock con potencial de aplicabilidad en contextos más amplios de recuperación de información especializada en este género musical en contextos digitales.Aborda o domínio do Rock a partir de suas especificidades históricas, sociais, políticas e mercadológicas. Como critérios de elaboração do formulário de coleta de dados, foram considerados a origem, a definição, os termos relacionados e a fonte de onde foram extraídos. Para a sistematização dos dados foram utilizadas as seguintes ferramentas: CmapTools, para a sistematização dos conceitos por meio de relações lógico-semânticas e Protégé: um editor de ontologias empregado na implementação do sistema conceitual gerado. Observou-se a gama de contribuições oriundas dos princípios garantia literária e garantia cultural na representação do conhecimento deste domínio. Constatou-se ainda o alto grau de expressividade semântica propiciado pela ontologia com um fator relevante na capacidade de contornar os dilemas conceituais e terminológicos do campo.
