This article presents the results of a survey that aimed to understand archival practices in Regulated Profession Supervisory Boards. For data collection, the Survey method structured through a pre-diagnostic file questionnaire was used, applied in the 29 Federal Councils of Regulated Professions existing in Brazil, which comprise a set of more than approximately 580 organs, including the regional councils. Such municipalities are located in the indirect federal public administration. 14 pre-diagnostic responses were received. According to the Opinion of the Ministry of Justice (MJ) / Advocacia Geral da União (AGU), 2013, the National Archives (AN) are responsible for guiding these councils on document management. It has been shown, however, that most Councils: do not apply the NA management tools; was not invited to meetings of the Archive Document Management System (SIGA); it does not guide its respective regional councils in dealing with documentation; does not have Archives with status of unit or sector in the respective organization charts; it does not have archival repositories; does not have computerized systems complying with the requirements for Computerized Document Management Systems (SIGAD), having only Electronic Document Management Systems (GEDs); it does not have a safeguard plan, among other notes.
