Resumo: In this artic\e is approached the historical aspects about the constitution of sociology of education, as specialty of sociology, with the objective to point out that, in the last years, his scietific production is been tumed specialy to themes related with the scholar institution. However, is observed that the majority of the researches reveal very few things about how this institution have been exercising his function of producer (producting and reproducting) of society. Is with this aim that show up here a referencial of analysis that intend to catch this dinamic,reconstructing the process of formation established in the catholics workmanship schools.

No entanto, observa-se que a maioria das pesquisas tem revelado muito pouco sobre como tal instituição tem exercido sua função de produtora (produzindo e reproduzindo) da sociedade.
