Reflections on a Police Archive of Political Information and Its Classifications in the Argentine Repressive Process

Resumo: This paper explores different perspectives on the archives of repression and, adopting the approach to archive as a process constructed by the archival discipline, history and anthropology, studies the Archive of the Department of Police Information of the Argentine province of Santiago del Estero as a power device. This allows illuminating the legal figures, scientific discourses, practical knowledge used in the environmental reports that supported their files. The article contributes to the discussion about the militarization of the police and their role in the repression in the 1970s.

Esto permite iluminar las figuras legales, los discursos científicos y los saberes prácticos empleados en los informes ambientales que sustentan a sus legajos. El artículo contribuye a la discusión sobre la militarización de la policía y su rol en la represión de la década de 1970.Reflexões sobre um arquivo policial de informação política e suas classificações no processo repressivo argentino explora as diferentes perspectivas sobre os arquivos da repressão na Argentina. Adotando o enfoque dos arquivos como processo construído pela disciplina arquivística, assim como pela história e pela antropologia, estudamos o Arquivo do Departamento de Informações Policiales da província de Santiago del Estero como dispositivo de poder. Isso permite iluminar as figuras legais, os discursos científicos e saberes práticos utilizados nos relatórios policiais de inteligência das pessoas que sustentam as fichas do organismo.
