Frequent Travels: An Ethnographic Perspective on the Interactions of Young People in the Neighborhood, the Police Stations and the Courts of Justice in Santiago del Estero, Argentina

Resumo: With an ethnographic approach and methodology, in the article, I turn to the idea of frequent trips to account for the different conceptions that are put into play in the circulation of young people by the juvenile criminal field, composed of three different and constantly linked spatial areas: the neighborhood, the police sections and the courts of justice. The proposed idea is intended to be used as a map to unveil the different local senses of justice, the conceptions, moralities and stereotypes that govern each of these areas and which explain the different ways assumed by the exercise of punitive power by part of the state in certain social sectors.

La idea propuesta pretende ser utilizada como carta de navegación para ir desentrañando los diferentes sentidos locales de justicia, las concepciones, las moralidades y los estereotipos que gobiernan a cada uno de estos ámbitos y que explicitan los diferentes modos que asume el ejercicio del poder punitivo por parte del Estado sobre determinados sectores sociales.Com uma abordagem e uma metodologia etnográfica, recorro à ideia de viagens frequentes para dar conta das diferentes concepções que se colocam na circulação dos jovens pelo campo penal juvenil, composto por três áreas espaciais diferentes e constantemente ligadas: o bairro, as seções policiais e os tribunais de Justiça.
