Resumo: In this article we intend to discuss some rituals of Roman 'basileia' during the government of Constanthis II. In order to do it, we describe the 'natalis imperil', 'adoratio purpurae', 'adventus' and the royal funeral trying to show how the Roman emperor was viewed in the context of the Later Roman society. In our point of view, the Constantius' government characterizes an important period for the configuration of the `basileia', when the emperor is definitely conceived as a supernatural being ruling on earth.
