Resumo: The objective ofthe present study was to describe the reproductive biology of the treefrog Scinax longilineus in Parque das Mangabeiras (19º 55' 57" S e 43º 56' 32" N), a reserve forest area 111 municipality of Belo Horizonte, State of Minas Gerais. Four sarnple areas were selected in the park. Field observations were realized in the period between August 1996 – August 1997. Additional observations were made at the intervals of June – August 1999 and February – October 2000. The reproductive activity of S. longilineus was influenced by some abiotic factors (rainfall, temperature, and luminosity). Females were larger and ·heavier than males. The individuals occurs preferentially near the strearns in a forested or near forested areas. Three hundred and twenty two individuais were marked chning the study. Sixty nines recaptures were realized and a constant recnritment was observed. Some individuals realized large.s displacements, but most were reencountered in the sarne place of tbe fust capture. An interval of three-to four months was observed for those individuals found between metarnorphosis and sexual maturity. Toe population possesses a prolonged breeding season with a climax in the chy season (AprilAugust). Males started vocalization before nightfall, with a climax of activity approximately four hours after sunset. Aggregations were observed and most of the distances inter males were inferior 50 cm. The number of females was superior of the males in most of the times and elevated values of SR O were obtained. Three vocalizations types were observed ("advertisement call", "territorial call", and "distress call"). The vocalization here called advertisement call, was the most frequent, in simple or com, posed forms; the territorial call was emitted together or separately of the advtrtisement call. Males in proximity of others of the sarne sex enútted the "territorial call" with large rate of repetition. Five clutches were observed in natural conditions and three others were obtained in laboratory. The arnplexus is axillary and the number of eggs averaged 291.
