Resumo: | Abstract: Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is present in about 7% of all pregnancies in the world. In Brazil. It is estimated that 2.4% to 7.2% of all pregnant women develop DMG. which means more than 200,000 new cases per year. This study aims to general characterization and description of the socioeconomic and cultural profile of patients diagnosed of DMG attended at the Maternity School of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro/RJ (ME/UFRJ). Methods: This is a prospective study. cross, escriptive. exploratory. and quantitative. carried out in the rooming-in of ME/UFRJ. The sample was of convenience. with 92 women in the immediate postpartum period. who had a diagnosis of GDM and their prenatal care and delivery performed at the institution. interview was applied semi-structured, from two forms. The data were analyzed using the program Statistical Package for the Social Sciences — SPSS version 20.0, using statistics simple. with absolute and relative frequencies. Results: 51.1% declare themselves to be brown/mulatto (n=47). single 43.5% (n=40) having completed high school 30.4% (n=28). with monthly family income between one and two minimum wages 51% (n=47). are workers with registration in a professional card 40.2% (n=37). Of the deliveries that took place, 72.8% (n=67) were due to cesarean Regarding the number of deliveries, about 65.2% (n=60) had between 01 and 02. number of abortions 32.6% (n=30) of the participants had between 01 and 02. The reason for most concern regarding the monitoring of GDM was the need to use insulin 53.3% (n=49). Regarding the management of insulin therapy. 54.3% (n=50) reported difficulties in their daily management practices. with self-administration as the main difficulty, 82% (n=41). Of the participants, 50% (n=46) had some type of obstetric complication, having highest rates for preeclampsia 50% (n=23). Among the (n=15). Conclusion: The sociocultural diversity of diabetic patients is evident assisted at ME/UFRJ as well as their conflicts regarding insulin therapy management. of this form. this highlights the relevance of the nurse as a health educator within the team multidisciplinary. because glycemic control is vital for the reduction of perinatal complications and mothers. |

Este estudo tem como objetivo geral caracterizar e descrever o perfil socioeconômico e cultural das pacientes com diagnóstico de DMG atendidas na Maternidade Escola da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro/RJ (ME/UFRJ). Métodos: Trata-se de estudo prospectivo. transversal, descritivo. exploratório, quantitativo. realizado no alojamento conjunto da ME/UFRJ. A amostra foi de conveniência, com 92 mulheres em puerpério imediato. que tiveram diagnóstico de DMG e seu acompanhamento de pré-natal e parto realizados na instituição. Aplicou-se entrevista semiestruturada, a partir de dois formulários. Os dados foram analisados por meio do programa Statistical Package for the Social Sciences — SPSS versão 20.0, utilizando-se a estatísticas simples. com frequência absolutas e relativas. Resultados: Declaram-se pardas/mulatas 51,1% (n=47). solteiras 43,5% (n=40) havendo cursado ensino médio completo 30,4% (n=28), com renda familiar mensal entre um e dois salários mínimos 51% (n=47), São trabalhadoras com registro em carteira profissional 40,2% (n=37), Dos partos ocorridos 72,8% (n=67) foram por cesárea. Em relação ao número de partos, cerca de 65,2% (n=60) tiveram entre 01 e 02. e ao número de abortos 32.6% (n=30) das participantes tiveram entre 01 e 02. O motivo de maior preocupação frente o acompanhamento do DMG foi a necessidade do uso de insulina 53,3% (n=49). Em relação ao manejo da insulinoterapia. 54.3% (n=50) relataram dificuldades em suas práticas de manejo diárias. tendo como principal dificuldade a autoadministração 82% (n=41). Das participantes 50% (n=46) apresentaram algum tipo de intercorrência obstétrica, havendo maiores índices para pré-eclâmpsia 50% (n=23). Dentre as complicações neonatais a hipoglicemia mostrou-se a mais significativa 53.3% (n=16) junto à icterícia neonatal 50% (n=15), Conclusão: Fica evidente a diversidade sociocultural das pacientes diabéticas assistidas na ME/UFRJ assim como seus conflitos frente ao manejo insulinoterapia.
