Resumo: The research tried to explain, theoretically, the forms of organization of production that the social and territorial redistribution of labor could assume in non-metropolitan cities in the Southeast of Brazil; It sought to identify the territorial distribution of the economic-industrial dynamics of these urban centers by analyzing the occupational structure and its transformations with the intention of distinguishing different forms of organization of production and providing a statistical picture of the changes occurring in the set of non- metropolitan areas that can serve as a subsidy for future evaluations of the possibilities, limits and recommendations of the decentralization and deconcentration policy.
