Resumo: Concern about environmental issues has undergone several transformations over the decades to reach the current vision. Currently, the new concept of development demands values of environmental responsibility in the industrial sector as well as in the transportation sector. The transport sector is traditionally considered to have a lower environmental impact than the production sectors. However, this sector consumes natural resources and impacts as much as the industrial sector and, therefore, also needs efforts in its environmental management. Thus, it is necessary to develop a model that allows companies to evaluate their logistics maturity in an objective way and thus to help them develop a more responsible environmental vision. In order to elaborate this evaluation model, a bibliographical review was carried out to identify models of environmental maturity level as well as a documentary research to identify sustainable actions in logistics in sustainability reports. The questionnaire was applied to specialists in the area of logistics and/or the environment in order to identify which actions are associated with each degree of maturity. Thus, this model aims at continuous improvement, in which a company can be classified as defensive and later as conformist, proactive and then strategic. Each grade has a total minimum score required for the company to be classified within that specific grade, including compulsory and optional points. For validation, the model was applied in five companies.
