This text brings the field experience and identification of non-tombed patrimony built in the municipality of Guarulhos-SP, via the patrimony inventory instrument, based on the INEPAC model. Understanding the inventory as a formatter of the act of history and preservation, we retrace textual, iconography and bibliography aiming at the trajectory, particularities, plurality of uses and social relations and actors around the building. Mobilizing analyses from Atique (1999; 2016), Lerner and Serra (2010) and Pignatarri et all (2020), we problematize the theme of the representativeness of urban cultural patrimony in the dynamics of spatiality in the public-private sphere, that is, the existence and/or absence(s) of policies and practices of preservation, in the face of other policies agreed upon, such as real estate speculation.
