Resumo: Considering the vast network of monuments that was erected throughout the territory of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia during the decades of its existence, symbols of its foundation as a nation through the partisan struggle and the historical heritage of collaboration and shared resistance between the six independent republics and the two autonomous provinces, the present work seeks to map and identify the current state of these constructions in the Republic of Croatia – a state that emerged from the dissolution of Yugoslavia and whose national narratives in vogue since its independence tend to antagonize its past. Through a quantitative survey, we seek to analyze the preservation efforts, the attempts of destruction and the modifications and appropriations around these spaces in the context of affirmation of a national culture.

Assim, o presente trabalho busca mapear e identificar o estado atual dessas construções na República da Croácia – estado que emergiu da dissolução da Iugoslávia e cujas narrativas nacionais em voga tendem a antagonizar o seu passado socialista. Por meio de um levantamento quantitativo, buscamos analisar os esforços de preservação, as tentativas de destruição e as modificações e apropriações em torno desses espaços no contexto de afirmação de uma cultura nacional.
