Resumo: The aim of this paper is to think about material culture as a perspective for Brazilian 19th Century studies. Through materiality, we can see networks of sociability in Cajazeiras, Paraíba. The patrimony gives us tracks to know more about its past and the people who were important to the City at that moment and the women who are part of these documents tell us about the access to education and heritage. The description of the assets in the inventories, like the relationship established with others citizens, are challenging questions for historians in the quest to understand material life and its meanings for this city and its social, religious and political life.

O objetivo deste texto é pensar como, em meio a materialidade, podemos enxergar redes de sociabilidade em Cajazeiras, Paraíba no final do mesmo século, e a inserção das mulheres na vida pública, através do acesso à educação e na constituição de patrimônio das mesmas.
