The right to oblivion and its representation: an ethnographic approach with directors of public archives Capixaba’s, Brazil

Study carried out with three directors of municipal Public Archives in the State of Espírito Santo, who take memory and oblivion as protagonists of the dynamic process of popular culture. It seeks to recover the perception of the right to be forgotten, and how this theme has repercussions in terms of broad social meanings. The figuration of oblivion makes it a questionable right. Thus, it is intended to understand the representation of this context in infoera. The diagnosis is interpreted in the light of current ethnomethodology: individuals build the social reality in which they are inserted. The results show the introjections of knowledge of the directors of archives regarding the right to be forgotten in the ways of the oral history of life method, bringing reports of some outstanding characters in the correlation of this theme. It concludes that the right to be forgotten, in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic period, guides vast provocations and involves democracy and freedom of the press, socio-digital communication, privacy and ethical issues and the situation of social responsibility.
