Descriptive representation of musicographic documents: analysis of the attributes of bibliographic description and authority of the score ‘Ó abre alas’

This research sought to analyze the attributes of bibliographic description and authority of musicographic documents, based on the Anglo-American Cataloging Code (AACR2) and the Resource Description Access (RDA). The score chosen was the one written by Chiquinha Gonzaga, entitled ‘Ó abre alas’. Therefore, the research is characterized as descriptive and documentary. In the data analysis, a qualitative approach was adopted, in order to interpret the aspects inherent to the scores and the elements of description. The results showed that the process of bibliographic representation and authority, based on codes, norms and formats, make it possible for musicographic documents to be capable of description and, above all, of retrieval. It was observed that the attributes and updates suggested by the RDA, such as the addition of the description field for content type; attributes related to the person that include field of activity, occupation, biographical data, information about the family, associated place, etc., this information collaborates in the preparation of the musician's performance who will carry it out as close as possible to the composer's idea.
