IDENTIFICATION AND EVALUATION OF WATER CONDITIONS SUPPLY AND SANITARY DRAINAGE IN DIFFERENT DEGREES OF VULNERABILITY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF JOÃO PESSOA, PB.

Resumo: In recent decades, Brazil has undergone significant changes in the construction of cities and some scholars argue that these places act as mechanisms of exclusion, because the centers are endowed with infrastructure and the peripheries are characterized as a distant and subequipped space that predominantly has low income populations. These characteristics enable the risk and deprivation of adequate infrastructure that produces risks to human health, quality of life and environmental degradation, configuring in social and environmental vulnerability. The objective of this study was to identify and evaluate the conditions of sanitary sewage and water supply in different degrees of social and environmental vulnerability, through the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) of the city of João Pessoa, located in Paraíba state for the year 2010. The methodology consists of the cartographic overlap and spatialization of six variables of the 2010 IBGE’s Demographic Census, and as a result we have to relate the listed variables of water supply and sewage to the most intense socioenvironmental vulnerability classes (“High” and “Very High”), it was observed that water distribution and sewage collection are not necessarily related to areas of greater social and environmental vulnerability as the hypothesis applied to the work suggests.

Estas características permiten el riesgo y la privación de infraestructura adecuada que produce riesgos para la salud humana, la calidad de vida y la degradación ambiental, configurando la vulnerabilidad social y ambiental. El objetivo del trabajo fue identificar y evaluar las condiciones de alcantarillado sanitario y suministro de agua en diferentes grados de vulnerabilidad socioambiental, utilizando el Sistema de Información Geográfica (SIG) del municipio de João Pessoa, ubicado en el estado de Paraíba para el año. 2010. La metodología consiste en la superposición cartográfica y la espacialización de seis variables del Censo Demográfico 2010 de IBGE y, como resultado, tenemos que relacionar las variables enumeradas en el suministro de agua y saneamiento con las clases de vulnerabilidad socioambiental más intensas ("Alta "Y" Muy alto "), se observó que la distribución del agua y la recolección de aguas residuales no están necesariamente relacionadas con áreas de mayor vulnerabilidad socioambiental, como la hipótesis aplicada al trabajo defiende.Nas últimas décadas, o Brasil passou por mudanças significativas em termos da construção das cidades e alguns estudiosos defendem que estes lugares atuam como mecanismos de exclusão, pois os centros são dotados de infraestrutura e as periferias caracterizam-se como um espaço distante e subequipado que predominantemente apresenta populações de baixa renda. Estas características possibilitam o risco e a privação de infraestrutura adequada que produz riscos à saúde humana, qualidade de vida e degradação ambiental, configurando em vulnerabilidade socioambiental. O objetivo do trabalho foi identificar e avaliar as condições de esgotamento sanitário e de abastecimento de água nos diferentes graus de vulnerabilidade socioambiental, pelo uso de Sistema de Informações Geográficas (SIG) do município de João Pessoa, localizado no estado de Paraíba para o ano de 2010.
