TEACHING STRATEGIES APPLIED IN THE AREA OF MANAGERIAL ACCOUNTING: A STUDY WITH STUDENTS OF THE COURSE OF ACCOUNTING

Resumo: The objective of this study is to identify, in the perception of the students of undergraduate accounting course, what are the main teaching strategies applied in accounting education in the area of managerial accounting that generate greater efficiency of the learning process. The study is classified as descriptive, with a quantitative approach, using a survey with the application of a questionnaire. The sample is composed of 271 students enrolled from the fifth to the tenth period of Accounting Sciences from two educational institutions, one public and another private, located in the city of Uberlândia-MG. For the analysis of the results, we used descriptive statistics and the non-parametric Mann Whitney test. The results showed that the teaching strategies that students considered more significant for learning in managerial accounting are those commonly used by teachers, namely: Group Work/Seminars; Reading/ Directed Study and Lectures. Such results are convergent with related studies on the subject. It was found in the perception of the students that the factors that influence the choice of a teaching strategy applied in the disciplines in the area of managerial accounting relate principally to the educational experience of the teacher and the educational objectives determined for the disciplines.Keywords: Accounting Education; Teaching of managerial accounting; teaching methods and strategies.

El estudio se clasifica como descriptivo, con abordaje cuantitativo, utilizándose del análisis, con la aplicación de un cuestionario. La muestra está compuesta por 271 estudiantes matriculados entre el quinto y el décimo período del curso de Ciencias Contables vinculados a dos instituciones de enseñanza, una pública y otra privada, ubicadas en la ciudad de Uberlândia/MG. Para el análisis de los resultados, se utilizó la estadística descriptiva y el test no paramétrico Mann Whitney. Los resultados evidenciaron que las estrategias de enseñanza que el alumnado considera más significativo para el aprendizaje en la contabilidad gerencial son aquellas comúnmente utilizadas por los docentes, es decir: Trabajo en Grupo/Ponencia; Lectura/Estudio Dirigido y Clase Expositiva, tales resultados son convergentes con estudios correlatos sobre la temática. Se verificó en la percepción del alumnado que los factores que influencian en la elección de la estrategia de enseñanza aplicada en las asignaturas en el área de contabilidad gerencial, están relacionados, principalmente, a la experiencia didáctica del docente y a los objetivos educacionales determinados para las asignaturas.Palabras-clave: Educación Contable; Enseñanza de la contabilidad gerencial; métodos y Estrategias de enseñanza.O objetivo deste trabalho é identificar, na percepção dos discentes do curso de Graduação em Ciências Contábeis, quais as principais estratégias de ensino aplicadas na educação contábil na área de Contabilidade Gerencial e que geram maior eficácia ao aprendizado. Para a análise dos resultados, utilizaram-se a estatística descritiva e o teste não paramétrico Mann Whitney. Os resultados evidenciaram que as estratégias de ensino que os discentes consideram mais significativos para o aprendizado na contabilidade gerencial são aquelas comumente utilizadas pelos docentes, quais sejam: Trabalho em Grupo/Seminário; Leitura/Estudo Dirigido e Aula Expositiva, tais resultados são convergentes com estudos correlatos sobre a temática.
