Resumo: | Purpose: The present work aims to identify the control functions performed in the startups of Greater Florianópolis/SC and to understand the perception of these companies on the importance of having a structured control department. Methodology: The research is characterized as descriptive by means of survey, with quantitative and qualitative approach. The research population comprises 145 startups from Greater Florianópolis according to the site Startup SC. The information was collected through a questionnaire applied through the Typeform site, with those responsible for the controlling area, financial officers or Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a sample of 31 startups. Results: The results showed that the control department is present in only five of these companies, however for the respondents this sector is important to offer reliability and consistency in the decision-making process. Contributions of the Study: The functions that stood out in the companies that have a department of control or not, were: Fiscal Accounting, Tax Planning, Management Accounting, Preparation of the financial statements and Strategic Planning. The least pointed out by the companies was Internal Audit, which also was not highlighted in the related studies. |

Metodología: La investigación se caracteriza como descriptiva por medio de levantamiento, con abordaje cuantitativo y cualitativo. La población de la investigación comprende 145 startups de la Grande Florianópolis de acuerdo con el sitio Startup SC. La información fue recolectada a través de un cuestionario aplicado a través del sitio Typeform, con los responsables del área de controlador, responsables financieros o Chief Executive Officer de una muestra de 31 startups. Resultados: Los resultados demostraron que el departamento de controlador está presente en sólo cinco de estas empresas, sin embargo, para los encuestados ese sector es importante para ofrecer confiabilidad y consistencia en el proceso decisorio. Contribuciones del Estudio: Las funciones que se destacaron en las empresas que poseen un departamento de controlador, o no, fueron: Contabilidad Fiscal, Planificación Tributaria, Contabilidad Gerencial, Elaboración de los estados contables y Planificación estratégica. La función menos apuntada por las empresas fue Auditoría interna, la cual tampoco tuvo destaque en los estudios relacionados.Objetivo: O presente trabalho tem como objetivo identificar as funções da controladoria desempenhadas nas startups da Grande Florianópolis/SC e compreender a percepção dessas empresas sobre a importância de ter um departamento de controladoria estruturado. Metodologia: A pesquisa se caracteriza como descritiva por meio de levantamento, com abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa. A população da pesquisa compreende 145 startups da Grande Florianópolis de acordo com o site Startup SC. As informações foram coletadas por meio de questionário aplicado através do site Typeform, com os responsáveis pela área de controladoria, responsáveis financeiros ou Chief Executive Officer (CEO) de uma amostra de 31 startups. Resultados: Os resultados demonstraram que o departamento de controladoria é presente em somente cinco destas empresas, no entanto para os respondentes esse setor é importante para oferecer confiabilidade e consistência no processo decisório. Contribuições do Estudo: As funções que se destacaram nas empresas que possuem um departamento de controladoria, ou não, foram: Contabilidade Fiscal, Planejamento Tributário, Contabilidade Gerencial, Elaboração das demonstrações contábeis e Planejamento estratégico.
