Resumo: In this paper, I seek conceptual elements present in The Second Sex for the formulation of a properly Beauvoirian theory of consciousness. Her own theory of consciousness was, one could say, theoretically overshadowed by great authors such as Sartre, Merleau-Ponty and even Bergson. Of course, it is not possible to completely dissociate them from Beauvoir's thought. Nevertheless, I intend to trace the conceptual elements of Beauvoir's phenomenology. If there is a specific Beauvoirian theory of consciousness, it can only be characterized from concepts that make up his analysis of the existential condition of women, that is, concepts such as socialization and the eternal feminine. With these technical terms Beauvoir bases her critique of the alleged phenomenological impersonality that can be traced back to Husserl's classical phenomenology. There is, therefore, no way to think of a satisfactory theory of consciousness, without considering the disproportionality between women and men, about the constitution of self-consciousness.

A sua própria teoria da consciência foi, pode-se dizer, ofuscada teoricamente pelas teses de grandes autores como Sartre, Merleau-Ponty e mesmo Bergson. É claro que não é possível dissociá-los por completo do pensamento de Beauvoir. Apesar disso, pretendo rastrear os elementos conceituais próprios da fenomenologia de Beauvoir. Se há uma teoria da consciência especificamente beauvoiriana ela só pode ser caracterizada a partir de conceitos que compõem a sua análise da condição existencial da mulher, isto é, conceitos como os de socialização e de eterno feminino. Com esses termos técnicos, Beauvoir fundamenta a sua crítica à pretensa impessoalidade fenomenológica que pode ser reconstituída até a fenomenologia clássica de Husserl.
