Resumo: | The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many deaths worldwide. Public health measures have been taken to control the spread of the virus that causes the disease, including social distance. It is observed that this measure can impact on violence against women and, equally, favor intimate terrorism, heightening existing fears and curbing their sexual and reproductive rights. Considering this context, the aim of this article is to reflect on the intersections between violence against women, gender relations and the tool of social distance in times of COVID-19 pandemic, dealing particularly with intimate terrorism. An exploratory and descriptive study was carried out through a survey of documents in the public domain. Critical relational feminism, particularly Carole Pateman's ideas regarding the public\private dichotomy, and the theory of social representations served as the basis for the reflections developed. It was concluded that in order to prevent and curb violence, it is necessary to articulate with the population ways of deconstructing representations about masculinities, about what it is to become a woman, about what is violence and terrorism and, above all, to rupture with the dichotomy between the public and private spheres. |
