Resumo: Tem como objetivo elucidar os impactos causados pelas licenças Creative Commons na comunidade acadêmica sob a ótica dos direitos autorais e os problemas por estes criados. Através de pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a temática e suas divisões, aborda o conceito legal de direitos autorais e seu desenvolvimento, bem como as implicações das legislações sobre autoria na produção acadêmico-científica e o acesso de acadêmicos e pesquisadores à informação, conteúdo e mídia em geral. Trata, em seguida, da ideia de Creative Commons e a promoção de uma relação mais fácil e flexível entre autores, criadores e terceiros que irão utilizar as produções e as obras
