Resumo: This project aims to establish guidelines for the viability of an alternative way of living collectively, guided by the principles of Cohousing. Considered one of the keys to sustainability in the Western world (Scotthanson, 2005). The cohousing philosophy is getting more and more fans in Brazil and around the world. Despite not having any exemplar built yet, cohousing has gained the admiration of many, being a recurring theme in discussion groups regarding ways of sustainable living, community sense and alternative ways of living. To accomplish this study, it was necessary to obtain knowledge of other collective ways of living, such as Ecovillage and Kibbutzim. For cohousing studies specifically, its main references used were Kathryn McCamant (2011), Charles Durrett (2011), Chirs Scotthanson (2004) and Kelly Scotthanson (2004). To better define the profile of potential future residents, this project had a group of young volunteers who have an interest in living collectively. For the definition of projective paths, their specific concerns and characteristics were considered through the use of participatory process methods. As a result of the research, there were established architectural and urban regulations and projective perspectives to bring the discussion about the topic in Brazil integrating the inherent aspects to the type studied to its empirical field: Pium district, Parnamirim/RN.
