Microabrasão na estética dentária: sucesso com procedimento minimamente invasivo

Introduction: The demand for aesthetic has led patients to the dental office more and more, so when there is multiple white lesions creates discomfort for the patient. Given this condition has sought to use minimally invasive procedures, for example, microabrasion as a first treatment option. Objective: The purpose of the paper is to describe a case in which the microbrasion technique was applied to multiple inactive white lesions of dental caries, a patient with tooth sensitivity report, and whose white lesions were seen after braces removal. Methods: The technique selected was the microbrasion with homemade mixture of pumice and 37% phosphoric acid, and this mixture applied with the aid of a rubber cup, making a total of 6 applications lasting 15 seconds each application and at the end of each application a wash was performed with a water jet. Results: The use of microbrasion technique proved highly satisfactory result for the treatment of surface inactive white lesions in tooth enamel. Conclusion: The preservation of tooth structure as well as the return of aesthetics, obtained by microbrasion reinforces that minimally invasive procedures should always be used as the first treatment of choice for inactive white lesions.
