Recorre ao método de estudo de caso, mediante a escolha prévia de centros a serem pesquisados. A realização de entrevistas e a análise dos dados permitem inferir que a principal barreira encontrada pelo bibliotecário em relação ao mercado da documentação popular decorre, basicamente, da sua formação, que privilegia o tecnicismo em detrimento de um conhecimento contextualizado, necessário para a adequação a novos mercados. ABSTRACT: Analyses the factors which contribute to the absence of the librarian in CPDCs. It employs the case study method for the investigation of previously chosen centres.
