Resumo: The large amount of electronic waste produced as a result of the increasing use of electronic equipment has caused unsustainable problems for the environment due to the pollution generated by its constituents. Printed circuit boards, for example, have several precious metals (silver, gold, etc.), base metals (copper, tin, etc.) and heavy metals (lead, chromium, etc.). In order to minimize these environmental impacts, it is necessary to develop means of reuse of this type of waste. For this reason, the main objective of this work was to develop an alternative method for the extraction of metals through hydrothermal treatment and processing of PCB using royal water in low concentrations at high pressure and temperature. The plates were mechanically processed until they reached the powder morphology and were subsequently contacted with solutions of royal water at different concentration and temperature conditions in a high pressure environment for several time intervals. The leached material was analyzed gravimetrically to determine the percentages of leached mass and the tests were executed following a factorial experimental design and a kinetic study so that a statistical analysis of the achieved results was done later. It was found that the concentration and temperature were considered significant factors, as well as the interaction of these two factors, in relation to the response variable. The tests also showed that significant leaching rates were achieved using small concentrations of royal water.

As placas de circuito impresso (PCI) por exemplo possuem diversos metais preciosos (prata, ouro, etc.), de base (cobre, estanho, etc.) e pesados (chumbo, crômio, etc). A fim de minimizar esses impactos ambientais, é necessário desenvolver meios de reutilização desse tipo de resíduo. Por essa razão, o objetivo principal deste trabalho foi desenvolver um método alternativo para a extração de metais, através de um tratamento e processamento hidrotermal das PCI, utilizando água régia em baixas concentrações a alta pressão e temperatura. As placas passaram por um processamento mecânico até atingir a morfologia de pó e posteriormente foi colocado em contato com soluções de água régia em diferentes condições de concentração e temperatura em ambiente de alta pressão durante vários intervalos de tempo. O material lixiviado foi analisado gravimetricamente para determinar os percentuais de massa lixiviada e os ensaios foram executados seguindo um planejamento experimental fatorial e um estudo cinético para que fosse feita posteriormente uma análise estatística dos resultados alcançados. Constatou-se que a concentração e temperatura foram considerados fatores significativos, assim como a interação desses dois fatores, em relação a variável resposta.
