Resumo: This work brings a low-cost alternative to an automated liquid dispenser equipment that works with small flow rates in a precise way, mainly for applications in laboratory case studies. In the document it is detailed the construction of the syringe pump, as well as the function that each part of the equipment performs, that is controlled through an application created with the Visual Fortran software from the Microsoft Visual Studio platform. The automation was executed through the data acquisition board Arduino Uno, which utilizes its own programming environment, similar to the C/C++ language, storing the code in the board with an acquisition function, control and communication (via USB/COM serial port) with the app developed on Visual Fortran. The Arduino system communication with the mechanical system occurs with the help of a driver sending signals to the actuator that, in this case, is a stepper motor used to move a horizontal shaft trough the positive displacement of the dosing syringe. After building the syringe pump structure, the Arduino platform programming and the communication software were tested, being calibrated and validated to different flow rates. Additionally, tests were done to evaluate the pump maximum pressurization capacity. The results demonstrated that the pump performance meets the requirements of the initial proposal, leading to a satisfactory project completion to develop a low-cost pumping device.
