Verificação do dimensionamento de uma estação de tratamento de esgoto de um hospital

Resumo: | This research evaluated the size of a sewage treatment station (STS) with a average flow rate of 1,02 L/s, which typically treats domestic sewage.The STS is composed of railing, Equalization Tank, Sludge Blanket Reactor, followed by submerged Biological Aerated Filter (BAF), Secondary Decanter and Ultraviolet Light treatment.The work was done in two stages: the first stage was the sizing of dimensions and the observation of the reactor characteristics, as well as the gathering of technical information about the pumps and the photoreactor.On the second stage the reactors’ size was assessed and compared to the parameters and guidelines recommended by the researched literature. The verification of the Sludge Blanket Reactor showed that some geometric features were not according to the recommended, namely: the height of the decanting compartment; overlap of gas deflector; height of the distribution pipes; number of spots for disposal and collection of iodine.Furthermore, we noticed that the reactor had superficial speed and hydraulic holding timing outside of the limits established by Chernicharo (2007). We noticed that the BAF is in accordance with the aeration and support volume criteria required to achieve the expected quality of effluent treated by a UASB followed by a biofilter. We also verified the strength of the blowers that supply air to the BAF. They are better than necessary to provide treatment with no nitrification. The secondary decanter, that was designed as standard decanter, has less than half of the blueprint area necessary to meet the needs of the studied STS. The Ultraviolet light treatment system is undersized and with a insufficient number of mercury bulbs. Because of all that, we concluded that the analysed station does not has the correct size to treat the volume of domestic sewage generated by the hospital, and this paper recommends changes in order to optimize the functioning of such station. |

A ETE é composta por gradeamento, tanque de equalização, reator de manta de lodo, filtro biológico aerado submerso (FBAS), decantador secundário e desinfecção com luz ultravioleta. O trabalho foi realizado em duas etapas: a primeira consistiu na medição das dimensões e observação das características relevantes ao dimensionamento dos reatores, assim como a coleta de informações técnicas das bombas e do fotorreator. Na segunda etapa foi verificado o dimensionamento dos reatores a partir da comparação dos parâmetros calculados e medidos com as recomendações da literatura pesquisada. A verificação do reator de manta de lodo mostrou que alguns elementos geométricos não estão de acordo com o recomendado, que foram: altura do compartimento de decantação; superposição do defletor de gás; altura dos tubos de distribuição; número de pontos de descarte e coleta de lodo. Além disso, observou-se que o reator se encontra com valores de velocidade superficial e tempos de detenção hidráulica fora dos limites estabelecido por Chernicharo (2007). Verificou-se que o FBAS atendeu aos critérios de aeração e volume de meio de suporte necessários para atingir a qualidade esperada de um efluente tratado por UASB seguido de biofiltro. Também foi verificado que a potência dos sopradores, os quais fornecem ar para o FBAS, são superiores do necessário para promover um tratamento sem nitrificação. O decantador secundário, considerando-se que foi projetado como decantador convencional, tem menos da metade da área em planta necessária para atender a configuração do ETE estudada. O sistema de desinfecção por ultravioleta se mostrou subdimensionado e com número insuficiente de lâmpadas de mercúrio.
