O Programa Nacional de Produção e Uso do Biodiesel: uma análise do impacto na agricultura familiar

This study aims to evaluate the National Program for the Production and Use of Biodiesel (PNPB) in Brazil, from the beginning of the project until the present day, and to verify if the results obtained are in line with what is planned by the program. The methodology used was a bibliographical review and databases analysis that allowed the verification of the proposed results. As a result, it was found that the goal of reducing regional disparities, reducing imports of diesel and diversifying the raw materials for biodiesel production, were not achieved as stipulated in the program. However, although with a minimal participation, biodiesel was inserted as a new biofuel in the Brazilian energy matrix, generating numerous benefits for the environment. As for the family farmers, these, also, were inserted in this productive chain, although of unequal form, by Brazilian region. Although the program has leveraged the diversification of the energy matrix, with the insertion of a new biofuel, and created new jobs for the rural man, the PNPB still needs adjustments to meet all the posts proposed by the policy.
