Resumo: The search for patenting crosses history to the present day and the academic world is one of those constantly seeking to have their productions protected. The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil is one that year after year has been increasing its interest in the desire for patentability. Within this institution, patents in the pharmaceutical area play an essential role and have significant numbers of filings and concessions. These numbers are also reflected in the dissemination of these materials in different media.
