The Marechal Dutra Dam as known by the populars for Gargalheiras water reservoir was built in Acari interior of Rio Grande do Norte State in the middle of the 20th century for the purpose to minimize the impacts caused for the drought in the Seridó Region. Becoming a tourist and a pleasure space for the local population the water reservoir now a day has faced one of the driest period of your history and this occasioned serious problem to the population. In this way, the general goal of this monograph is to analysis how the change in the landscape of Gargalheiras water reservoir caused by the drought 2012- 2016 come impacting the tourist activities in the locality. Besides that, it’s of our interest investigate the strategy used by the enterprises of the tourist area and the local population according the actual canary. The methodological procedure of this research characterized like qualitative had like the main tool for collecting information semi-structured interviews with the local community, owners of commercial establishments and municipal tourism secretary. In this way, with whole information it can affirm that the landscape change of Gargalheiras water reservoir had a direct impact on the tourist activity in the area, as well as the life quality of the population that depended of fishing, tourism and trade.
