"Mulher do seu tipo": mulheres descasadas na "festa baile"

The social world has been the stage to many changes, mainly the ones related to women, that to expand their area of operations, also are awakened to grow their claims in the subjectivity field. These changes are felt in the family organization, feminine protagonism area, where the social project of binary genders receive their first traces. Marriage receives new designs, crosses solubility, and achieves new configurations. In this scenery, it is assumed that women take the reins of their destiny moving through the possibility of elaborating choices. This study aimed to find the degree of real changes in the lives of the women who live in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Hence, an ethnography of the flow of women in the public space, in festas baile, was done, plus a research in which speeches and reports were analyzed in a qualitative way, basing, theoretically, in authors as Berenice Bento (2012), Angela M. de Almeida (et al 1987), Pierre Bourdieu (2014). Although the research has shown that women are encountered in new times and are experimenting new interaction forms, it also has shown some ambiguities, since unmarried women from Natal are leaving home seeking for amusements that were traditionally for men, but the same women are hesitant in having this experience of new reality to the fullest.
