Resumo: | Faced with the environmental effects of using fossil fuels, it has awakened to the need to migrate the world energy matrix to renewable sources of energy. Considering production magnitude of sugarcane in Brazil, it is indisputable that the waste generated by the sugar cane industry can have its energy serviceable. In order to contribute in this way, the thermal properties of briquettes produced with the sugarcane bagasse powder were studied. Thus, biomass samples were collected, briquettes were produced and their thermal properties were analyzed as a function of three compaction pressures, 50, 100 and 150 bar. The briquettes were made using a hydraulic machine with electronic pressure controls and resistive heating. A thermal analyzer was used to estimate the thermal properties of the samples. Considering the results, the briquettes compacted at 150 bar presented thermal conductivity and heat capacity significantly higher than the other samples. While the briquettes submitted to the compression pressure of 50 bar presented significantly higher thermal diffusivity than the other specimens. Based on the results, it was possible to verify the influence of the compaction pressure of the briquettes made with the agricultural residue on its thermal properties. |

Considerando-se a magnitude da produção de cana-de-açúcar no Brasil, se faz indiscutível a oportunidade de aproveitamento dos resíduos gerados pela indústria sucroalcooleira. Com o propósito de contribuir nesse sentido, estudaram-se as propriedades térmicas de briquetes produzidos com o pó de bagaço de cana. Assim, foram coletadas amostras da biomassa, produzidos briquetes e analisadas suas propriedades térmicas em função de três pressões de compactação, 50, 100 e 150 bar. Os briquetes foram confeccionados utilizando-se máquina hidráulica com controles eletrônicos de pressão e aquecimento resistivo. Um analisador térmico foi utilizado para estimativa das propriedades térmicas das amostras. Diante dos resultados os briquetes compactados a 150 bar apresentaram condutividade térmica e capacidade térmica calorífica significativamente maiores que as demais amostras. Enquanto que os briquetes submetidos à pressão de compactação de 50 bar apresentaram difusividade térmica significativamente maior que os demais exemplares.
