Resumo: "COVID-19 and the care of the elderly" offers simple guidelines for Long-Term Care Institutions for the Elderly (LTIE), without a new coronavirus pandemic context. The publication provides recommendations for protective and control measures that can be adopted while assisting residents, especially with regard to suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19. All recommendations follow guidelines published by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Ministry of Health, through the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) and the scientific literature.
