Resumo: In the face of a growing quest to reduce the emission of polluting gases in the atmosphere due to the use of fossil fuels, it was sought to replace its use with fuels from renewable energy sources, such as ethanol and biodiesel, in whole or in part. As examples for partial substitutions, we have in automotive gasoline a percentage of 27% by volume of anhydrous ethanol in its composition, and for diesel road we have the addition of biodiesel, which is now 10% by volume. As an example for full replacement, we have the use of hydrated ethanol fuel in vehicles that operate with Otto cycle engines. In order to contribute to the study of the percentage increase of biodiesel in diesel oil, oxidative stability was studied for mixtures of 5%, 10%, 20% and 30% by volume of biodiesel in mineral diesel oil. All blends were subjected to oxidative stability analysis in the Rancimat equipment, model 843 from the Metrohm manufacturer, according to EN 15751, and the differential scanning calorimetry analysis under pressure (P-DSC) on model DSC 204 HP equipment from the manufacturer Netzsch, according to ASTM E2009. Through the results obtained it can be noticed that with the increase of the addition of biodiesel the oxidative stability of the diesel oil is reduced gradually. Oxidation of biodiesel present in diesel fuel can lead to premature fuel filter clogging by increasing viscosity due to the formation of insoluble compounds as well as potential durability impacts on components of the engine injection system. With this, it is necessary to study the diesel / biodiesel mixtures in order to verify the induction time of these products so that their use can be carried out before the beginning of the oxidative process.
