The objective of this work is to show by means of stories of experiences the importance of university extension lived in projects and programs as a fundamental part for my training, not only as an art teacher but as a citizen, whose trajectory was interwoven by drumming, masters of popular culture and various moments of collectivity. The Extension, that is one of the three pillars that make up the University, although they do not receive the same financial investment education and research, has the same importance as context of training for students, graduates and can be transformed into an even more interesting instance in integral training for teaching in art because it brings together in practice the other two pillars. It was from various experiences in projects of extension that i realized the importance of it to my training as a professor of theater, because I allowed the magnification Academic knowledge when these were contextualized in dialogs with the community outside the university. Such dialogs allow licensees in art know a diversity of experiences that stimulate new studies in an interdisciplinary way involving students, teachers and the community pool in a social interaction interlaced by a praxis that I consider crucial for teacher training.
