Resumo: The present work it is an experience in music education developed in Projovem Teen Program in the city of Natal between July and December 2008 with the aim of bringing music to language as a non-formal context Since its proposal emphasizes music in the form of artistic presentations. From the experience with teens found the necessity of dealing with music not only as a complementary activity, but as a proposal that could bring music education to reflect on their actions. Was chosen the practice of choral singing as a main activity. Through this practice, it was possible to identify a significant increase in participants in the social, educational and musical. Having as research methodology, ethnography and participant observation with field notes in diaries.

Having as research methodology, ethnography and participant observation with field notes in diaries.O presente trabalho trata-se de um relato de experiência em educação musical desenvolvido no Programa Projovem Adolescente na cidade de Natal/RN entre os meses de Julho e Dezembro de 2008, com o objetivo de trazer a música como linguagem a um contexto nãoformal, uma vez que a sua proposta enfatiza a música sob a forma de apresentações artísticas. A partir da vivência com os adolescentes constatou-se a necessidade de se trabalhar a música não só como atividade complementar, mas como uma proposta de educação musical que pudesse trazer a reflexão sobre seu fazer. Foi escolhida a prática do canto coral como atividade principal. Através desta prática, foi possível identificar nos participantes um significativo crescimento nos aspectos social, educativo e musical.
