This paper aims to describe the economy of Ceará Mirim municipality but also give a strong attention to the labor market in the city. Demonstrate how was the formation of the municipality, illustrate data such as public finance, population characteristics and formal employment in the economic sectors. For this there will be a bibliography based on authors who wrote about Metropolitan Region, Labour Market, Economic Development, among others. The research problem is based on the question of the city's economy, as was the process of growth of the economy municipality? For this it was necessary to consult secondary data to gain access to relevant information from the municipality of Ceará Mirim, which is part of the Metropolitan Region of Natal. The overall objective of the work is based, describe the impact on the evolution of the city's economy. As for the methodological aspects, a descriptive and exploratory research literature character based on authors who have studied the issues on the labor market was held, economic development, metropolitan areas, it was also necessary to consult secondary data on the city's economy.
