Análise da razão de força isométrica entre RL/RM em atletas de handebol com e sem GIRD e não atletas

Resumo: Introduction: Owing to the large forces generated during the throwing motion, players impos an excessive stress on the glenohumeral joint, making the shoulder sufferable adaptations, which may be a risk factor for the development of injuries. The Glenohumeral Internal Rotation (GIRD) is one of these adaptations, it is a reduction in the range of motion (ROM) of medial rotation in the dominant shoulder when compared to the non-dominant. In addition to range of motion changes, muscle imbalances often occur in throwing players. The imbalance between the forces of medial rotators and lateral rotators are generally associated with the GIRD and are considered together with the other changes, factors that predispose to injury. Objective: to compare the rotador strength ratio RL/RM between athletes with and without GIRD and non-athletes, also analyzing whether there are differences between the dominant and non-dominant sides. Methodology: this is a cross-sectional study, developed in the Physiotherapy Department of the UFRN. A total of 47 individuals participated in the study, of both sexes, aged between 18 and 35 years, handball athletes and healthy individuals who did not practice throwing. After an initial assessment of range of motion (WMD), the athletes were divided into two groups Group Athletes without GIRD (GASG), composed of 16 athletes, Group Athletes with GIRD (GACG), composed of 16 athletes. Non-athletes were allocated to the non-athletes group (GNA), composed of 15 individuals, thus forming 3 distinct groups. It was performed in all groups the isometric evaluation of the rotador strength ratio (RM/RL). The data from this sample was analyzed using the software SPSS 20.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences)and the significance level of 5% was adopted. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between limbs (p = 0.28), nor groups and limbs interaction (P = 0.97). The difference found for the variable was between the groups (p <0.01). The difference between the groups was between the Non-Athletes Group with the other groups (p <0.01) and there was no difference between the groups of athletes with GIRD and Group Athletes Without GIRD (P = 0.97). Conclusion: although handball athletes showed no difference in the rotador strength ratio RL / RM between the groups with and without GIRD, they showed a difference in relation to non-athletes. Thus, the repetitive pitch movement predisposes to a reduction in the isometric rotador strength ratio (RM/RL).

O Déficit de Rotação Interna da Glenoumeral (GIRD) é uma dessas adaptações, trata-se de uma redução na amplitude de movimento (ADM) de rotação medial no ombro dominante quando comparado ao não dominante. Além das alterações de amplitude de movimento, os desequilíbrios musculares ocorrem frequentemente nos jogadores de arremesso. O desequilíbrio entre as forças de rotadores mediais e rotadores laterais estão geralmente associadas ao GIRD e são consideradas juntamente com as outras alterações, fatores que predispõe a lesão. Objetivo: Comparar a razão da força isométrica RL/RM entre atletas com e sem GIRD e não atletas, analisando também, se há diferenças entre o lado dominantes e não dominante. Metodologia: trata-se de um estudo observacional e transversal, desenvolvido no Departamento de Fisioterapia da UFRN. Um total de 47 indivíduos participou do estudo, de ambos os sexos, com idade entre 18 e 35 anos, atletas de handebol e indivíduos saudáveis que não praticavam esporte de arremesso. Após uma avaliação inicial de amplitude de movimento (ADM), os atletas foram divididoss em dois grupos Grupo Atletas sem GIRD (GASG), compostos por 16 atletas, Grupo Atletas com GIRD (GACG), composto por 16 atletas. Os indivíduos não atletas foram alocados no grupo Não Atletas (GNA), composto por 15 indivíduos, formando assim, 3 grupos distintos. Foi realizada em todos os grupos a avaliação isométrica de força de RM e RL. Os dados da amostra foram analisados através do SPSS 20.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) e o nível de significância adotado foi de 5%. Resultados: Não houve diferença estatisticamente significativa entre membros (p=0,28), nem interação grupos e membros (P=0,97). A diferença encontrada para a variável foi entre os grupos (p<0,01). A diferença entre os grupos foi entre o Grupo de Não Atletas com os demais grupos (p<0,01) e não houve diferença entre os grupos de atletas com GIRD e Grupo Atletas Sem GIRD (P=0,97). Conclusão: apesar dos atletas de handebol não apresentarem diferença na Razão de força entre RL/RM entre os grupos com e sem GIRD, os mesmos apresentaram diferença em relação aos indivíduos não atletas.
