Resumo: | The presence of microcontaminants in the supply springs is an increasingly common condition. They come from a variety of sources, such as the drainage of agricultural regions and the release of effluents into the water bodies. Such substances have aroused interest because of their potential risk of causing adverse effects to human and animal health, even when found in low concentrations. This work presents a verification of the possible microcontaminates present in the water supply, the treated water, the filter washing water and the filtered water of the Jiqui / RN water treatment plant, which supplies part of the South, East and West zones of the capital. The compounds analyzed were: endocrine disrupters (estradiol, ethinyl estradiol, estrone, estriol, 4-octylphenol, 4-nonylphenol and bisphenol A) and the drugs (diclofenac, ibuprofen, paracetamol, naproxen and genfibrozil). The procedure for determination of contaminants involved the preparation of composite samples, solid phase extraction, elution, derivatization and the detection of the compounds by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS). This analysis allowed to verify the occurrence of four of the twelve compounds studied, and were: 4-Octylphenol, genfibrozil, Bisphenol A and Estriol. Among these, genfibrozil was the one with the highest frequency of occurrence in the samples. The comparison of the results with the literature showed that the values found are, for the most part, lower than those reported in other regions of the country. |

Tais substâncias têm despertado interesse devido ao seu potencial risco de causar efeitos adversos à saúde humana e animal, mesmo quando encontrados em baixas concentrações. Neste trabalho é apresentado uma verificação dos possíveis microcontaminates presentes na água de abastecimento, na água tratada, na água de lavagem do filtro e na água filtrada da estação de tratamento de água do Jiqui/RN, que abastece parte das zonas Sul, Leste e Oeste da capital. Os compostos analisados foram: desreguladores endócrinos (estradiol, etinilestradiol, estrona, estriol, 4-octilfenol, 4-nonilfenol e bisfenol A) e os fármacos (diclofenaco, ibuprofeno, paracetamol, naproxeno e genfibrozila). O procedimento para determinação dos contaminantes envolveu o preparo de amostras compostas, a extração em fase sólida, eluição, derivatização e a detecção dos compostos por cromatografia gasosa acoplada à espectrometria de massas (GC-MS). Tal análise permitiu verificar a ocorrência de quatro dentre os doze compostos estudados, e foram: o 4-Octilfenol, genfibrozila, Bisfenol A e o Estriol. Entre esses a genfibrozila foi o que apresentou maior frequência de ocorrência nas amostras.
