The implementation of wind farms for electric power generation causes socio-environmental impacts in the localities where they are installed. Based on this, this work aims to analyze the socioenvironmental impacts generated in the municipality of Rio do Fogo / RN, due to the installation of the Rio do Fogo and Arizona I wind farms, based on studies related to the construction of these parks. For that, the hypothetical-deductive method was used, researches were carried out from field activities, questionnaires were applied to the local residents and analysis of bibliographical research concerningthe theme of this work. Thus, it was necessary to understand the environmental and social aspects of the municipality and it was verified that the installation process of the wind turbines altered the original characteristics of the locality, causing, thus, several positive and negative socio-environmental impacts. Based on the results of the research done on this topic, the impacts on the construction and operation phase of the wind farms were correlated with the consequences of this activity for the community and the local ecosystem. Thus, this work raises information that may contribute to academic studies and provide solutions to the problems presented.
