The National Program for Improving Access and Quality of Primary Care comes from initiatives that were proposed by the Ministry of Health with the aim of improving the quality of the service provided by Basic Health Units, and was created in 2011, allowing for greater transparency and efficacy of the actions directed to Basic Health Care. This study has the objective of analyzing the changes brought by the program and that were perceived by the professionals that are inserted in the Basic Health Network in its District. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. It was developed in the Western District, which is part of the eight Health Regions of the state of Rio Grande do Norte. As results, a more comprehensive knowledge of the professionals is perceived in the perspective of improvement with the implementation of the program, being relevant the changes that propitiated a greater improvement for the development of the work done to the health networks. It can be concluded that, according to professionals, the changes brought about by the program have brought about an improvement in the organization of services.
