Resumo: | The main objective of this work is to understand the role of the pedagogue within the public school. The problem addressed questions the absence of a "critical" and "scientific" training in the training of pedagogues in universities. Regarding the approach, we opted for a theoretical analysis, anchored in the following procedures: Bibliographic research from the literature review under the theme covering encyclopedias, collections, books, articles, magazines and online journals, taken from digital libraries, while documentary research was based on information gathered from public and private works. It turns out that the role of the pedagogue as a school coordinator is to advise the teacher pedagogically in planning, and thus improve their pedagogical practice, in the evaluation process this is to mediate, help, articulate and transform the educational practice with teachers. |

A problemática abordada questiona a ausência de uma formação “critica” e “científica” na formação dos pedagogos nas universidades. Quanto à abordagem, optou-se por uma análise teórica, ancorada nos seguintes procedimentos: Pesquisa bibliográfica a partir da revisão de literatura sob a temática abrangendo enciclopédias, coleções, livros, artigos, revistas e jornais on-line, retirados de bibliotecas digitais, enquanto a pesquisa documental valeu-se de informações colhidas de trabalhos públicos e privados.
