Resumo: | In recent years, the changes required by Brazilian law, in relation to the diesel composition indicate the trend of higher reductions in the concentration of sulfur in the fuel, requiring therefore investment and new technologies based on process hydrotreating, HDT, with high cost. Seeking to meet the internal demands of the market for sulfur content in diesel, which in Rio Grande do Norte is 500 ppm (diesel S500), and from demands of the Refinery Potiguar Clara Camarão (RPCC) that does not have HDT unit, this paper proposed, obtaining new S500 diesel formulations obtained by different mixtures, using S1800 diesel, with lower cost for refineries and diesel S10, with higher cost, besides B7 biodiesel, specified by the National Petroleum Natural Gas Agency - ANP, with a maximum of 7% content v/v. The B12 biodiesel was also used to evaluate the effect of the increasing content of this biofuel in 12% v/v in diesel marketed in accordance with the specifications required by - ANP. The diesel samples originating in the Potiguar Clara Camarão Refinery (RPCC) and new formulations produced in this study were characterized according to the methods of the American Society for Testing and Materials - ASTM, existing in resolution number 50 of the ANP, for various physicochemical properties, such as specific gravity at 20 ° C, kinematic viscosity at 40 ° C, flash point, cold filter plugging point, distillation point, vapor pressure, aniline point, cloud and pour points, cetane index and sulfur content. The results indicate that the properties evaluated for S500 diesel formulations, B7 and B12, fits the limit values which are established by ANP, thereby obtaining an alternative means to promote the reduction of sulfur these currents, reducing the manufacturing and end cost of the product due to minimize the use of hydrotreatment processes, and creating a perspective of increase in biodiesel content in diesel oil without requiring changes in operational limits. Diesel formulations, B7 and B12, using an additive based isobutanol were also evaluated with the use of a 23 factorial design with different biodiesel, sulfur and isobutanol content. The results indicated that formulations with isobutanol did not keep some physicochemical properties of diesel within the specification, then the additive is not indicated for the commercialization of fuel. |

Biodiesel.Propriedades físico-químicas.Formulações.Teor de Enxofre.Isobutanol.Formulations.Physico-chemical properties.Sulfur content.
