Resumo: The environments of child education are spaces of learning, interaction, knowledge and fun. In those areas, the children should be stimulated to play, to discover themselves, to socialize with others and with the surroundings (developing the perception), to express themselves in many different ways (speaking, dancing, singing, painting…). Despite indications and governmental support, most of the Brazilians schools have neither the physical structure nor the pedagogic structure that is consistent with this learning, they ignore the site’s climates conditions, and they provide a little integration of architecture project with the applied pedagogy and with the community. Therefore, the aim of this undergraduation final project is to propose a public kindergarten that applies the Reggio Emilia approach as educational methodology and theoretical basis for architecture spaces, allowing the playful learning, the enrichment of the child themselves and the incentive to their expression and development. The building project has 1,251.31 m² located in a site of 4,548.42 m² in Pium neighborhood, at Parnamirim/RN. Thereby, the kindergarten was developed to be a climate friendly building using passive design strategies (as natural ventilation and shading); to have different levels, multiple use elements and different scales; to incorporate outside and inside areas of the building; and to create common spaces with the surrounded community. In addition, it has as distinguished elements the fluid timber roof, the use of colors and the playful areas to stimulate kids’ abilities, senses and interactions.

Apesar das indicações e incentivo da legislação, grande parte das escolas brasileiras não apresentam estrutura física e pedagógica condizente com esse aprendizado, ignoram as condições climáticas locais e proporcionam pouca integração entre a arquitetura, a pedagogia aplicada e a comunidade. Partindo dessa constatação, esse trabalho final de graduação tem como objetivo propor uma escola infantil pública que utilize a linha pedagógica Reggio Emilia como metodologia educacional e base teórica para relação arquitetônica, possibilitando o aprendizado lúdico, a valorização da criança e o incentivo ao seu desenvolvimento e expressão. O projeto da escola, com 1.251,31 m2 de área construída e localizada em terreno de 4.548,42 m2 no distrito de Pium, Parnamirim/RN, foi desenvolvido de modo a: adaptar-se ao clima por meio de recursos passivos de conforto ambiental (sobretudo ventilação cruzada e grandes beirais); proporcionar elementos de múltiplo uso, diferenças de escalas e de níveis; integrar ambientes externos e internos ao prédio; e estabelecer espaços de relação com a comunidade ao redor.
