Resumo: Electronic communication was judged by many federal higher education institutions as a solution to optimize communication between their sectors, being implemented at the Federal University of Roraima (UFRR) through the Integrated Management System (SIG) in 2012. UFRR reproduces the bottlenecks of the Brazilian public service, it has not been planned or trained for technological innovations in the fields of automation, control and information technology, applied to the processes of management and production of knowledge. We are an academic community in the 21st century with habits and practices of the nineteenth century. In this way, the practice of printing memos, even electronic ones, is used at full speed. The purpose of this paper is to clarify why we have moved from the paper memo to the electronic one, but we do not change people and their "stability" by reproducing outdated practices.

The purpose of this paper is to clarify why we have moved from the paper memo to the electronic one, but we do not change people and their "stability" by reproducing outdated practices.La comunicación electrónica como alternativa orientada a optimizar la comunicación entre sectores fue implementada en la Universidad Federal de Roraima (UFRR) a través del Sistema Integrado de Gestión (SIG) en 2012. Sin embargo, muchos sectores continúan con la práctica de imprimir memorandos, incluso a los generados electrónicamente . En ese sentido, el objetivo de este artículo buscó identificar el perfil de los servidores que aún continúan con la práctica de la impresión en papel y los obstáculos para incorporarse a la comunicación electrónica. La investigación se caracteriza por ser un estudio de caso cualitativo, exploratorio y descriptivo. La recolección de datos se realizó a través de la aplicación de un cuestionario estructurado, con 07 preguntas, aplicado a servidores, pasantes/becarios adscritos a 12 sectores administrativos de la UFRR. Los resultados arrojaron que el grupo de edad que más práctica de imprenta tiene es el de 18 a 25 años. Evidenciando que la UFRR es una comunidad académica del siglo XXI con hábitos y prácticas del siglo XIX. En otras palabras, la práctica de imprimir notas, incluso si son electrónicas, todavía se usa ampliamente.A comunicação eletrônica como uma alternativa visando a otimização da comunicação entre os setores foi implantada na Universidade Federal de Roraima (UFRR) através do Sistema Integrado de Gestão (SIG) em 2012. Entretanto, muitos setores continuam com a prática de imprimir os memorandos, mesmo àqueles gerados eletronicamente. Neste sentido, o objetivo deste artigo buscou identificar o perfil dos servidores que ainda continuam com a prática da impressão em papel e os obstáculos para adesão da comunicação eletrônica. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como estudo de caso de cunho qualitativo e de caráter exploratório e descritivo. A coleta de dados foi realizada através da aplicação de um questionário estruturado, contendo 07 perguntas, aplicado aos servidores, estagiários/bolsistas lotados em 12 setores administrativos da UFRR. Os resultados mostraram que a faixa etária que mais tem prática de impressão, é de 18 à 25 anos.  Evidenciando que a UFRR é uma comunidade acadêmica no século XXI com hábitos e práticas do século XIX.
